I recently had a very frustrating experience with a shipment that was marred by multiple issues:

Significant Shipping Delay: My shipment arrived at the port on December 3rd, but it took an additional month to be delivered. The delivery only occurred after I requested a refund and offered to pick up my items myself. This extended delay was highly inconvenient and completely unacceptable.

Damaged Items: The majority of the containers I received were damaged. These were plastic bins that I had planned to reuse for storage, but they arrived in poor condition—far worse than I’ve ever experienced with similar shipments, even after moving multiple times to and from Hawaii.

Unexpected Additional Charges: I was surprised to encounter additional fees that I was never informed about upfront. These included charges for stairs/elevator use and delivery distance, which were not mentioned until the delivery team arrived. It was frustrating to face these unexpected costs without prior notice.

Poor Communication: Communication throughout the process was extremely lacking. I only received minimal updates, such as when my items arrived at each port, and my inquiries were often ignored or met with unhelpful responses. At one point, when I called to confirm a delivery, I was told, “Sorry, I completely forgot about you. We can’t come today.” This kind of communication delay only added to the frustration.

As someone with a background in customer service, I understand the challenges involved in shipping, but these issues were all avoidable and made the experience far more difficult than it needed to be. I would not recommend this service based on my experience.

We initially contacted Hawaii Moving Pros back in April 2023 to get an estimate for shipping cost from Hilo, Hawaii to Henderson, Nevada.

Mo was our initial contact in Honolulu, Hawaii. He did all the estimates, the updates and he kept in contact with us the entire time. Mo also helped us with coordinating shipping both of our vehicles from port in Hilo, to our door in Henderson as well.

Mo was awesome, he is down to earth, very personable, courteous, extremely knowledgeable and he returned all our calls in a very quick and timely manner.

Chris, in the Los Angeles office was very helpful as well, he was able to assist us and answer all of our questions and concerns.

We finally sold our homes in Hilo and were able to move in June 2024.

Hawaii Moving Pros pick up team in Hilo, were Tim and Ricky. They were very personable and handled our 32 boxes with care and the labeling and documentation were outstanding.

The Hawaii Moving Pros deliverers in Henderson were Manny, Dave and another guy, we didn’t get his name. They picked up all of our household goods from the port of Los Angeles and delivered it to our home in Henderson, Nevada. They were very personable, friendly and handled our 32 boxes with care as well. Very nice people to deal with.

Hawaii Moving Pros made our move a lot easier and less stressful. Our overall experience with Hawaii Moving Pros was excellent and we would definitely recommend them to anyone.

Hawaiian Moving Pros: OUTSTANDING

5 Stars ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ Total Team Effort!

This is an Excellent Company and it’s Team from San Diego to the Team in Honolulu as we did 2 moves. The Sales contact was Michael and when he was not available others pitched in. We then worked with Edward Jacobs * ( Absolutely Amazing ? ) he is Event Manager/ Chief Concierge/ Head Banquet Captain all the above and more. Just Fantastic!

So the first move was furniture ( that they dismantled and wrapped) , boxes, pictures, surfboards, dishes, even wine. The second move was mostly all boxes. We were informed the entire time when the items got put on the ship in Los Angeles and when the ship arrived in Honolulu.

Very Important: everything arrived in perfect condition! They moved all items into the home ( we have 10 steps) before you enter the home or other locations * ( they even helped with putting items into attic) . The team put the California King Bed back together and the cabinets with mirrors.

They all made us feel like ? VIP’s

My girlfriend and I just moved from Baltimore to Oahu, and I would definitely recommend HMP to anyone considering the long distance move. Chris was super helpful with getting things arranged, and always responsive and helpful when I had a question. Same went for Joshua on the delivery end of things. The crews on pickup and delivery were quick, thorough, and professional. All of our stuff arrived in the planned timeframe, and nothing was damaged. Overall very positive experience for an excellent price.

Hawaiian Moving Pros made my move from Delaware to Hawai'i seamless and non-eventful. They stayed in contact with me every step of the way and informed me of exactly what would happen, how much things would cost, the estimated arrival time of my household items, etc.. They even helped me set up the shipping of our cars. I couldn't be happier with the level of service I received, and I'd use them again in a heartbeat. I highly recommend them to others who are looking to move, they were great. KUDDOS to Chris and Josh, thank you both so much.

I had an excellent experience from start to finish. Whenever I had a question or concern, I called and spoke with Chris or Nathan, and they answered me immediately. They were professional, courteous, and understanding of my anxiety about moving to the mainland. They were very patient with me as I didn't have a home to move to and therefore didn't have an address to provide for my destination. They reassured me that everything would work out and offered to store my belongings if needed. Every step of the way was made easy. Nathan kept me updated on the whereabouts of my belongings and the expected timelines, and my belongings arrived safe and sound.

Customer service over the phone were courteous and helpful. However, the movers from CA arrived late in the afternoon on the scheduled date and the quote over the phone changed. The head of the movers (3 men) was very aggressive in negotiating the additional costs and asked for a tip ($50 each) to pack my stuff. I have several mugs, cups, plates broken.One armchair leg was also broken. HI movers (2 men) were helpful and accommodating. I most likely will not use this company again.

From begining to end, the team was informative, patient, receptive of my needs, and really supported my move..

They communicated regularly and addressed all areas of concern or uncertainty in the move process.

The pick up and deliver teams were very kind and helpful, and treated my things very well, better than I would myself.

They kept me updated on the process and they actually exceeded my delivery expectations, they came early.

I would use them again.

From start to finish HMP lived up to their name. Everything from the pick up crew on Oahu, to the drop off driver/ delivery man in Oregon was completely professional . My items were packed and shipped with care. All nine surfboards made the trip without a ding. The delivery man was solo and handled the unpacking and delivery with courteousy and care. Throughout the trip, communication was excellent from initial contact to post delivery. I highly recommend HMP to anyone needing moving services.

We are very pleased with Hawaii Moving Pros company. They crew was on time picking up the items. Worked hard to pack everything (mirrors, glass table tops - all made it on one piece). They were very organized, labeling, making pictures etc. The left the site very clean. Once on Maui the delivery was easy, again, nice, friendly, hard working people. They move everything to the second floor, unpacked, covered the condo carpet in blankets, to make sure it stays clean. Took all the garbage with them to the small pieces. Everything was as scheduled. They were in touch with us twice a week with the updates. I highly recommend Hawaii Moving Pros - professional, friendly, organized people. Thank you!

I was referred to this company less than 2 years ago when I moved from Oahu to IL. After 2 long winters, I decided to reverse the process and move everything back to Oahu. This company is the BEST!! They are always available to answer questions, and my things arrived within the said window of time. The movers that packed my things in Peoria were outstanding, and everything was delivered with care on this end. Highly recommend!

Looking for Movers can be extremely stressful. I had called around quite a few places. Some people would not even respond back, but when I spoke with Mo he really set my mind at ease, and I immediately decided to use this company. He helped me every step of the way of the process. What I really appreciated is whatever I was quoted was exactly how much I was charged, but I did ask questions. If there’s something you don’t understand ask. When the price was not where I needed it to be, Mo took the time to explain what increased my price and how I can bring it down to where I needed it to be that was super helpful. I felt Mo was very honest with me quality that many companies are lacking today.

When you follow their instructions on packing, it allows the entire moving process to function smoothly. There was accuracy on the total cost so no surprise on the final price for moving items. Mo and his team of professionals are reputable and reliable in their moving services from start to finish. Mo and Teddy are patient in explaining the entire moving process which alleviated my anxious, worrisome energy because of a lifestyle change moving to a new state for the first time. At the start, Mo clearly explained everything to prepare for this move, following up with detailed information in email communications. If I had any questions or concerns, Mo and Teddy could be contacted via office call or mobile call for clarification. Over communicating was extremely beneficial and appreciated from a client perspective because Mo/Teddy efficiently and effectively resolved my inquiries to my complete satisfaction. Each of my boxes had a bright yellow label with a number and tracking barcode for a client to know the status of their belongings en route. We used Hawaiian Moving Pros to ship our goods from California to the Big Island. I appreciated their communication and clarity from the very beginning to the end; from giving us our quote, setting up the move date, confirmation check-ins leading up to the move date, and update of our goods in transit and delivery. Estimate quotes and actual moving prices were very reasonable for our situation and amount of goods. Updates came through as phone calls and emails; very thorough and helpful. Their moving teams are friendly and professional. Pack out and delivery times were quick! We also used them for auto shipping for our Subaru Forester as well.

We made out move from The Bay Area to The Big Island in Jan of 2026. These guys were great. Other companies wouldnt delivere directly to our home given its slightly off grid location . Not only did they deliver it but their guys were friendly brought it all in and put it where I wanted it. They then do a full inventory before leaving to ensure that you received every item. Everything was there nothing broken or damaged. I would Definitely recommend using these guys for your moves to hawaii.
